Re: Transfer case shifter rail and set screw
So finally got this fixed!! That dang ball was stubborn! After many hours messing with it, gravity finally won. I tried everything to pull it out, no luck. Just letting it sit upside down didn't get it either. I was resorting to drilling it out (which I think would be pretty well impossible) I was m...

Transfer case seals
While on the subject of transfer cases, Since it now appears that I will be removing mine from the truck, would I be dumb for just fixing the problem and putting it back together? or should I toss some new seals in it while it's on the bench? I know there is some wear to the bearings, but they are n...

Re: Transfer case shifter rail and set screw
Dang, why such a perfect fit!!!??? That picture is exactly what I'm dealing with. I tried and tried to get it out without removing the T-case. I've given up and started to remove it. Got everything loose but one mount bolt that's stuck. That's when I dropped the wrench and gave myself a fat lip........

Transfer case shifter rail and set screw
So I think I figured out the problem with my truck not shifting from high to low. I'm pretty sure that when my transfer case was rebuilt in 1972 (per the tag on it) the high/low shifter rail was installed upside down (indents for the detent ball facing down) and the set screw on the fork was never i...

t-case stuck in neutral
Need some help. I appear to be stuck between high and low. Second time it's happened. First time I just pulled in the driveway and it acted like it was in neutral. Bout 2 minutes fiddling with the levers and i was back in business. This time I pulled the lever for low and nothing, pushed it back aga...

Re: Anyone Install Repro Fuel Line Kit?
I just did my lines. Made them using 5/16 steel line for feed, 3/16 for vent, and used the armor wire coil from summit racing over it all. Looks great and not that hard to do either. I added an electric pump on the crossmember and hard piped it in too. Used same style flare fittings as factory. Hard...

Re: Anyone Installed Repro Brake Line Kit
I just did all the lines on my truck. I don't know who's kit I have cause it came with the truck when I bought it. Naturally some of the lines have been lost so I had to fab a couple myself. Big picture, even if they are not 100% bent right, it was still way easier to start with something close. Mos...

Re: Drive Shafts Question
I need to have mine rebuilt. Has a really good dent/bend in it. Looks like it's been that way a while too. there is a place near me, Point Spring and Driveshaft (used to be Island Spring and driveshaft) that will build what ever you need. I've had several custom drive shafts made for Jeeps by them. ...

Re: (ETW carb ISSUES!)
Doesn't sound NOS to me, at least the new part. That sediment is what I would expect to find in an old carb that has had a bunch of fuel run through it. Particles small enough to get through the filter settle out and some fuel evaporates, leaving the sediment behind. That's the condition of most all...

Re: Very rich after carb rebuild
I put the ball on the top of the spring and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to go under the spring. I don't have detailed drawings, but found a youtube video slide show. Hope it's right. I know there is a TM for the carb, but haven't found an electronic copy online, and don't ever see myself doing ano...
