Re: M37B3 Project
I am laughing. Both at and with you. Now, I'll let you in on a secret to prevent that from happening. Don't use an engine stand. I do all my building on a reasonably low 4' square steel table. I learned this about 30 years ago and have never used a tippy floppy engine stand since. I4, I6, V6, V8, ga...

Some. With a brand new shifter top assembly, it is about 2".
With and old top it can be stirring the witch's cauldron. It works just about anywhere. You just have to get used to it.

Should you add ZDDP to your oil?
There is so much 'lore' and antidotal evidence about oils and an oil thread is always interesting, so I thought I'd post this here.
If you want to know more about oil than you ever cared, follow this guy on youtube.

Re: body mount questions
The radiator mount is to the u channel. The u channel mounts to the engine. (2 brackets, BB & RR in the drawing) The engine, trans and radiator remove as a single unit.

Re: Winch Hole Plug
I'd just cut out a piece of sheet metal, fit it tightly and tack it in in 4 places to mimic the original punch out.

Re: Winch question
Physical winch is the same. The mounting brackets may not be. There are 4 brackets. 2 large ones on the sides and 2 small ones on the front.

Yep, it's usually something easy like that.
Glad you got it fixed. (Without the electric fuel pump, electronic ignition crowd spending your money needlessly!)

Re: Losing fuel prime
So, what you don't know is if the choke plate is in the intake tract and if it moves. But you are "lucky" that someone drilled an extra hole in the airhorn of the carb and plugged it with a bolt. You might be able to remove that and see if the choke is closing. The actual bowl vent is alon...

Re: Losing fuel prime
Does the choke actually work? Choking it will draw the fuel from the bowl quickly. If the choke plate isn't closing you will not get the pressure differential you need to get the fuel to flow . And I just keyed off of you saying that you dribble fuel into the main vent tube. You are NOT running an E...
