The guy who rebuilt my 230 took great pains to balance the con rods. He said it was the best thing to do for these motors.

i've had some 'discussions' with the offending shop. they're too far to drive to, and i don't have a towing setup for this beast. I am back on the road, albeit with much trepidation. One thing i'm noticing, now that i got it to idle good at 600rpm, is that coming out of idle there is a 'dead spot'. ...

after another frost plug popped out last night I’m in quite a state. I paid good money for a supposedly professional rebuild by a shop with 230 experience.

Yeah, I dimpled it and used aircraft permatex. Gonna pressure test the system to 7 psi before reassembling this time.

In my panic I left the ignition on. Coil burned for sure (open circuit between posts). NOS coil from John and still no spark.
Can u burn up a Pertronix? How do you test them?

What kind of sealer should I use?
I ordered the whole set this morning; one of the upper plugs is weeping I should probably change that too.

Got a mile from home today and noticed the truck was over heating. Once it was cool enough I added some water to the radiator…and it came pouring out the frost plug behind the starter!
