I would think that there are drains, but I haven't found them- my doors hold water, not a good thing. Can someone tell me where the drains are so I can clean them out?
Thanks,

Re: Do the doors have drains?
I had a quick look at my truck and you should be able to find at least one drain about 6" from the rear edge of the door, right up against the skin. Its rectangular, about 3/4 x 1/4". There may be one up front, but on this one there is rubber weather stripping glued on that may be covering it.
Re: Do the doors have drains?
Yup..........there are two drain holes in the bottom of each door. The holes are located right next to the fasteners that hold the rubber weatherstriping to the sides of each door. So if you're looking at the bottom of the door you'll see a piece of rubber attached to each side of the door, starting at the top of the door and ending at the bottom of the door just after going around the curved bottom of each inner door. The rubber on each side ends at a small clamp held to the door with a Phillips head screw. Right next to each of these clamps there is a single oval drain hole in the inner door skin.
If you need a pic let me know and I can post one later.

Re: Do the doors have drains?
Thanks a lot guys. My cab is currently off the frame and sitting about 4" off the ground- hard to see stuff. On a side note , while I have it off I decided to give it a good interior cleaning. Holy cow! There was a couple of pounds of dirt, leaves etc behind those reinforcement braces around the cab. That's how I discovered my doors held water!

Re: Do the doors have drains?
I'm actually amazed at how well the earlier M37's DON"T rust out, considering what they've been thru. The later trucks seem to be made of a more corrosive steel, and seem to rust out earlier. I've got some NOS doors still in the crate and I was a bit amazed to see they didn't even paint the inside of the doors..........it looks like someone removed the lower door panel and sprayed straight into the door.........so above and below that opening inside the door it's bare metal! I guess rust-proofing in automobiles didn't become popular until the 70's, and even later in trucks. But then again......military vehicles weren't expected to have long service lives.

As I've often said: Rust is the eternal enemy of all old vehicles.
You might also check the drain holes in the battery box and battery holding tray.
They're prone to clogged up drain holes. The battery acid and ambient water
make for a witches brew on paint and metal. Check for drain holes under the driver's seat too.
Other places include the rear corners of the cab. I don't remember if I found ANY drain holes
there. I drilled several under each corner of the cab.
Two other really bad moisture catchers are the sides of the cowling which are ahead of the windshield
and rear of the hood and just above the running boards. Again.... I cleaned all of the crud
and corruption out, drilled drain holes, flushed with water then primed and painted.
