I am trying to adjust the timing on my truck but my mark is way to the left of the pointer. What would cause this. Engine has been completely redone with petronix ign installed. Could something be done wrong?
Thnx

Re: Timing help
That was the problem with mine. When I got it, the timing was so far advanced that I couldn't get it close. Removed the oil pump and reinstalled correctly, problem solved.

Re: Timing help
Update.
After trying two more times I tried rotating oil pump one extra spline and the timing was right on. Thanks all for the input. Frustrating it didnt work how manual describes.

Re: Timing help
some times the marks dont line up on the pump to compensate for the twist of the gear.
