Hit 3000 miles yesterday!

Post by powerwagontim »

On a 40 mile round trip yesterday the odometer clicked past the 3,000 mile point since I got it on the road August of 2011. Only came home on a chain once so far, due to a failed fuel pump.
Loving being back to good weather, will have the top off in short order!

Good news My friend, hope you have many more trouble free miles and enjoy every one. These trucks are a real attention getter and I am sure you will have loads of fun talking to all who choose to share their M stories with you. :D

Thanks Guys! Of course I jinxed myself, My fuel pump died Wednesday, just about a year since the last one. So, in my experience, an NOS pump will last just about a year. Probably a combinatio of being 50 years old and the ethanol in the gas. Time for a rebuild with more ethanol tolerant materials!
When I replaced the pump last year I also installed an inline electric pump on a switch. When she started bucking Wednesday, I turned on the switch and she smoothed right out. Knowing I could be pumping fuel into my oil, I stopped a couple times and carefully checked the oil, no rise and no fuel smell. She got me home under her own power so I call it good!
