4.89's

Post by mjmcorb »

I bought mine fron Bob Stahl at Veteran Vehicles a number of years ago at a total of 600 bucks and had a local mechanic, a good one, put them in and it is recommended that you plan on replaceing carrier bearings and a full inspection of everything before it goes back together.

By the time you do the job right, you better expect to pay about $1,000.00. Tom

Stahl also sets up complete bolt on units with carriers. You unbolt yours and drop it in his shiping container as a core. $$$$ = convience in this case...the more $$ you put into it the easier/less you have to do to complete the job.

The last set that I got came from Paul at MARS... I had Charles at M-Series instal them for me and would go straight to him in the future for the parts and instalation. No problems at all, and they have been in my truck with the Cummins in it racking up the miles...

It's been about ten years and it was money well spent.

Well i have them in my new bought M37, And just went to the St. ,Patty's Day Parade in Huntington, NY, drove fror a 40 minute drive on the Long Island Expressway. Hit about 50 MPH and truck seems to do it ok. Once I get my timming set (gads) I'm sure it will go faster.
