New addition to my FORD tool set.

Post by Nickathome »

Added another tool to my FORD (Found on the Road) tool set the other day. Stopped at a light in the hood on my way home and looked down to see a battered Stanley flat head screwdriver lying there rather forlornly. I had to rescue it from an early death. Its now in my kit.

It hasn't happened lately but I have stopped to pick up road tools also.

I 'd say in the last year I must have found three or four tools. Found the screw driver last week. About a month ago I found the Stanley needlenose pliers, back in the fall I found a 3/4 deep socket. I'm waiting for the day I find a power tool lying on the side of the road. Odds are good that I will..

You would be amazed at what I have found while inspecting roads and bridges for over 15 yrs. All kinds of hand tools, several fishing tackle boxes, one floated up to me while I was boating inspecting river piers, fishing rods, binders and chains of all lengths, hundreds of bungicords, ice chests W/ beer, full bottles of wine as well as numerous kittens and as much as $47 cash in one money find and yes a power tool, a near new Milwaukee 1/2" angle drill W/ chuck key, found on the road. Never found a body but a guy I knew found 8 at a missing airplane's crash site while on a new highway construction site, that was really FORD, found on road dead, but it was just tools for me.
