Oil Filter Conversion?

I picked up a Baldwin filter base from NAPA, (part # 4755) and it has 1/8 NPT female ports. The existing oil lines from the original filter canister are too large to attach to the new filter base.
What do I need to adapt the existing oil lines to the new filter base? My local Napa store didn't have a clue!

Check with your local ACE (or similar) hardware store for a couple of couplers. They'll have them. Similar situations are pretty common in the HVAC business.

Come to think of it, your NAPA store probably has 'em, too. They'll probably be in the brake/fuel line section. The "computer geek" at the counter probably couldn't understand your situation and couldn't find it on the computer. Ask his boss, though, and he'll probably be able to fix you right up.

Thanks Lifer, but my NAPA is a waste of time.
If I could find out what size I need, then I can find a hardware store that might have them.

Well, you already know that the skinny end is 1/8" NPT. Find out what size the bigger thread is and ask for a reducing connector to join the two. You may have to explain that "esta no cosa grande" and give 'em a Gibbs slap to the back of the heaad, but they'll have 'em.

Take the hose and the filter to the store.
Or, if you still have the original stock filter housing then just use the two 1/8" pipe to 1/4" inverted flare tube adapters off of it. One of the originals is straight and the other is a 90 degree.

Cuz,
Thanks for the heads up on the canister fittings!
I did take the new filter base and hose to NAPA and they couldn't come up with a fitting!

LH7,
I just finished the filter upgrade.
I'll try and attach a photo.
Are you sure you have the right filter base?
The filter system is a bypass type of system and requires a filter and base
just for that.
The Baldwin number OB1305 for the base and the filter is B-164.
Is the number you have a NAPA number.
I used 2 - 1/4" inverted flare x 1/8"NPT fittings as I moved the filter to the
regulator bracket.
Any parts store that sells metal brake lines should have the fittings.
