The continuing title saga...

Post by steved »

Well, as some of you might remember, I'm working on getting a title for my junk.

I got the Broadway Title info, filled it out, but most Notary's wouldn't touch it (because both the "buyer" and "seller" weren't present)...finally had a friend notarize it for me...should send it out next week sometime.

They claim a 10-12 week wait...will keep you updated.

Steved,
If that fails I have a title from a 1952 parts truck I might part with.

Well, finally mailed the application last week. Got a call today from Broadway Title...I forgot to include the expiration date of the CC I used...

I asked the gentleman how long it would take, he replied "10 weeks." So that's about perfect...I'll just be getting home from New Mexico and the title should show up shortly after.

If I remember correctly, I should get a notorized BOS and a current AL registration, and that should net me a title and registration in PA.

Will keep this updated as it happens. I'm getting excited now that I might actually have a title for this truck...makes working on it more of a priority! Now I just got to get home from New Mexico!

I don't think we can help you very much with youe problem, William. We have 50 states, and all of them have different rules. Sometimes the rules change, too, so it's hard to keep up with all of them. As for offering you advice, I really don't think any of us know what the Spanish government requires. Have you checked with the office that handles titles and registrations in your area?

(Don't ask the police. They probably wouldn't know, and they might arrest you for having an untitled truck!)

This would be a prime candidate for switching data plates since your's was deleted.

As was noted, probably not to many guys will be able to help, not knowing Spanish laws/regulations. Best to start by asking "what if" to the local motor vehicle licensing place.

As an update...it wasn't easy...

I got the AL registration and notorized BOS from BroadWay beginning of January...went to AAA, they said I needed a MV-41 filled out by a mechanic (GVW and mileage verification)? OK, I'm a little heated since they neglected to inform me of this THE FIRST TIME!

It took a couple weeks to get that done, luckily I have a friend that is a PA mechanic.

Took it back to AAA two weeks ago, and they told me that usually the registration is signed on the back when its released?????????? Ummm, why wasn't this mention before???? I told them that since they didn't know AL law, they should just send it through as is.

Forward to today...I have a 100% real PA title in hand!

So for everyone wondering...the Broadway Title stuff cost me $150. It cost me another $85 for AAA/state processing fees. Not to mention I was lucky in the fact I didn't need to trailer the truck all over the place to get it weighed, have a mechanic sign it, etc...so this could have easily hit the $500 mark, just to get a title for a truck I've owned FOR ALMOST FOUR YEARS!!! And if you notice the date of the initial post, its taken me the better part of four months to get this done!

Happy ending

Post by N1VSM »

Congrats on your happy ending of this long saga! I now appreciate how simple it was for me. I just transferred my CT registration to MA and VOILA! MA issued me a title, even though my truck had never been titled before. Odometer reading on my title is 99,999 - a fancy way to say that the odometer is not accurate.
