transmission interchangeability question

Post by monkeymissile »

Folks,
I am trying to find out if an NP420 from a '66 PW will work in a 1953 M-series. Thanks.

Ok why not? Or better yet what is needed to make it work? An adapter? Is the spline different? The shaft too long?

Different mounting hole pattern. It can be adapted if you drill & tap the bell housing to match.
