M37 Dash Light Workaround

Post by GregL »

At first my dash lights weren't hooked up, so after I found the cut wires behind the panel and hooked them up, they still did not work, there was no power out of the three lever light switch. So I came up with this circuit while pondering what to do about my inop dash lights.

In the end after repeatedly exercising the three lever light switch, my dash lights started working! So I've never implemented this circuit (at least for now), but it should work in theory.

The circuit should be self explanatory. You'll need a three position DPDT switch, three position meaning Center Off. When the lamps are in parallel they are full bright, when in series they are half bright. No diodes or power resistors necessary for dimming here.
