Instrument Panel Markings

Post by pfrederi »

I am working in my instrument panel and there are surviving labels under the gas gauge and high beam indicator. They are white letters about 3/16" high and appear to be decals (at least they flaked off when I tried to mask them prior to repainting).

I have not noticed them in the sets of decals offered.

Was such marking common?? Are they being reproduced??

What did the one under the volt/ammeter say... Battery??

Some vehicles had the fuel and high beam (only) marked w/ such decals. I guess that they found some drivers just couldnt remember what those were. I also dont know when they orignally started appling them to trucks, but they are avial from the typical decal vendors.

Thanks...Strange just the two. If my truck were newer I would suggest McNamara's 100,000 as the cause
