Charles' part # QBR23549 for the input shaft 15 needle bearings was dead on. What I was 1st given by my local trans rebuilding place yesterday was wrong (it fits the NP205) - 2nd time ordering using that exact # rather than a crossed # (allegedly) was correct. I think the shop screwed up (they didn't believe me that the NP200 actually existed). Next day air ($$$) and the truck should be rolling for the weekend

Drew: I bought two sets of the correct size and length rollers from Vintage power wagons. They were a little pricey but the correct ones can also be bought if you want a minimum order of 1000 ! . Terry

Whoa there, Nellie! Altering the needle bearings in any way, shape, or form is NOT a good idea! You would have to use a micrometer to get the length exactly right on each one, you would also have to round the ends or risk damaging the housings, and you would have to retreat them to insure the proper hardness. You can't just file or grind them down and "call it good."
The trans co that shipped my NP200 rebuild kit was clueless. I had them send part to get the kit complete. However, I only discovered this weekend they sent the wrong size needle bearings. All the needle bearings in the kit are 1 size!! Not good. So I got 30 extra smaller size needle bearings. The 30 pilot bearings have a larger o.d.
Why speed kills, I assumed toss all bearings and put all new parts when rebuilding the t/c. I just dumpster dived - and recovered 27 of the 30 needed needle bearings. 3 must have took off w/ the dryer socks? I want the truck ready for the SteelSoldiers.Com Off Road Rally this weekend as I promised to take my son months ago and compromised w/ the wife to miss Gilbert to do it. W/o the proper part #, VPW is looking like the way to go = overnighted$$$.
