clutch pedal question

Post by monkeymissile »

Gents,
when the clutch is all the way out on my truck, the pedal arm hits the bottom edge of the opening in the floor plate, so much so that over the years (before I got it), it has apparently deformed the hole (I'll try to post a pic shortly). The result is that when driving over rough terrain, the pedal arm slaps against the hole making an annoying clank.
So my question is: is the travel on my clutch pedal improperly adjusted? Do I just need to tweak the stops? I hope this doesn't mean I need a new clutch! Thoughts?
Thanks!

You should have one inch of free travel on the clutch pedal. For the floor plate, this topic came up recently on the forum and I recall Charles Talbert posting some advice regarding this.
