M43 info needed

Post by tonandhalfsteve »

I'm in the process of buying a 1953 M43 ambulance in pretty good shape. I have plenty of info on the drive train, but need help with the patient compartment. I would like to equip it as original as possible. Does anyone know of a good source of info on the features and equipment in the patient compartment? Thanks.

Vintage Power Wagons in Iowa has a great deal of M43 expertise. You might go to their website and post your questions. https://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/

You might also try Portrayal Press. Patrick Tipton has helped me with some obscure TMs that are not advertised. Likely, the M43 has a manual which standardizes the ambulance equipment provision and installation.

Great find Steve! I had hoped to find the same thing, but had to settle on a M725 that I'm gathering everything I can to restore to original in all respects. I'd like to stay in touch with you during your process, since sharing resources may result in mutual benefit. Vendors of Ambulance related items, may have commonality across models. PM me if you are interested, and well share the knowledge.
