Post by tonandhalfsteve »

How do I determine the date of manufacture of an M101A1 trailer?

Welcome Steve-glad to have you with us!
If your trailer has the data plate it should include the date of manufacture. I don't have a trailer but the VIN might be stamped on the frame somewhere.

I recently bought an M101A2 trailer, and am in the process of learning about mine. I was confused about it having several data plates, both showing different VINs. From the reference materials I've found, it began to make more sense. It appears the frame and axle is an M116, and the box is the M101A2. If this is correct, variants can be mounted on the M116 to accomplish different tasks?
