Browsing through the detail shots, I notice an unfamiliar bracket in the cab. It appears to be a reinforcement between the hinge pillar for the driver's door and the bottom edge of the instrument panel. And it looks factory-made, not some sort of field modification. Oddly, there isn't a matching bracket on the passenger side. I can't find it in any of the G-741 parts catalogs (although without exploded parts diagrams for the cab structure, the books are sometimes like looking for a needle in a haystack ).
Any idea what this bracket is for? Some sort of unique Marine Corps modification?
Part number?
Why isn't there one on the passenger side?

Thanks, Black Ops. My truck still has the bed-mounted spare, so I hadn't seen this bracket before.
