The folks around town see my truck quite often for one event or another, as well as driving it on a regular basis. I wanted to do something a little different for the Veterans Day Parade. I decided to configure my 65 as a Vietnam era gun truck to honor those brave soldiers who rode shotgun on the convoys. I have been collecting armament for this and although I could use another machine gun on the right rear,(maybe an M60) the 50 cal and the 30 cal will have to do for now.
I'll be interested if you are questioned, or run through any requirement to prove these are non-functional.
Love the truck and thanks for sharing your pics.
Let us know how it goes!

I drove my M37 on Fort Carson in Oct. , M16 in the cab , mortar and fuse crates in the back... no questions. Don't think people care too much when its a historic looking MV.
Dana,
There won't be any problems. The police chief knows me and my military vehicle collections. I did give our downtown police officer a reminder that my truck had sprouted armament. They all think it looks cool. I think Jay's observations is correct. Many people, when talking to me about my vehicles, think they are current military issue. So, some added firepower does not look out of place to them. A lot of people even ask me if I am an active duty soldier. At my age, I will take that as a compliment!
