My First Full Year with a M37

Post by WarrenD »

I've owned the M37 for a little over a year now. This is a summary of what we've done this year.
Cruise Nights: 6
Car Shows: 10
MV Shows:1
Parades: 2
Awards: 2 first place, 1 third place, 1 Best in Show

Work done this year (so far, I know the year isn't over yet!)
Change oil and filter
Change rear gear lube
Replace 3 T-case seals
Replace intermediate driveshaft
Replace rear pinion seal (with Charles' kit)
Fab and mount armor box
Design graphics
Install radio in gunbox
Fab and install side window armor (faux)
Fab box for the M-60's for transport
New tires, blast and paint rims
Install rifle mount in cab
Make sign for car shows, tells about the truck, guntrucks, the yellow nose, etc
Fab "Parade Sign" which hangs from the front tie downs. Reads " Dodge M37 Guntruck, Vietnam Convoy Escort" Lets folks know what they are looking at. It's first trial will be this Sunday.
A lot of little stuff I can't remember

We have one parade left and maybe an elementary school visit, maybe a Vets event and then it'll be time to clean her up and get ready for winter. I like to take it out every few weeks for a little run but that all depends on the weather. I won't go in snow, slop or salt. Actually, it's just the salt that bothers me, if they didn't use that I'd drive in the snow. (Maybe doing that once on NDTs would prevent me from doing that again!)

I have a few things to do this winter and will be making a parts list for next spring. Who knows, I might be in a different state by next spring....

Thanks guys, coming form you all, that means something!! :D
Having experienced what it is like to own one of these, I think having one to run in the mud isn't for me. Seems like everytime you get something underneath wet, you have to change fluids and check seals.
