another one back on the road

Post by rickv100 »

I bought my M37 back in 1991, it took a long time to get finished a frame off restoration.

We put it in our first parade yesterday.

Rick,

The truck is looking good. Can you post a picture of the engine bay and cab interior?

Yes, I bought it in 1991, disassembled it completley to the frame while I still lived at my parents. Got married, lived in an apartment and townhouse which were not friendly to working on the truck. Finally got a house in early 2000 and was able to start working on it in earnest. Had to get the Mig Welder, 5hp 2 stage Air Compressor, Sandblasting Cabinet, engine stand, engine hoist, and other tools along the way.

Rebuilt the engine, new wiring harness, all new brake and fuel lines. Most time has been spent blasting and painting as I went.

I will dig up some before pictures and post them up.

Looks great. I know the feeling, worked on my M for a long time. I tell friends what I repaired or replaced and they can't believe it. My joke is I replaced every thing in the brake system but the petal.

Many thanks for all the kudo's and compliments. Yes, I am still grinning and still enjoy looking at the truck now that it is finished.
