Memorial Day 2012

Post by HingsingM37 »

Hope all had a good Memorial Day and remembered the fallen.

I played prime mover to the 40MM Bofors I painted for the museum a while back.
The M37 performed flawlessly. I never used 1st gear so much...alot of metal to tow

Thanks guys. It was a great time.

Joe, that gun actually came from the Summit County historical society. I originally came across the gun in the early 1990's while exploring the old abandoned BF Goodrich plant in Akron. There was a room full of artifacts from the Akron area, this gun along with a deck mount 40MM and other WWII items. It appears the organization had stored them there renting space after the factory closed. The building was sold and was actually being torn down. The items were removed by what was left of the historical society. The military items were given to MAPS. Later in 1996 when I joined MAPS I became reunited with the guns and many of the other items :)

Ok...that's not the one that Wayne had. That one would have been 199-2000 ish. Gun looks good though. Truck looks good pulling it!
