Data plates on Glove box

Post by retiredguy »

Does any one have a picture of their data plates on the glove box door. There is supposed to be 3 on mine but I only have 2. I have the serial plate and the dimensions plate. I do not know what the 3rd one was. Any help would be appreciated. I think I want to order new plates. Also does anyone know why the number on the RH side firewall (engine side) varies from the VIN nimber? Or what is that number for?

It sounds like you are missing the "Responsible Agency" plate.

That is the cab serial number and is never the same as the VIN

The Gallery has an album, I think you can add yours anytime you'd like?

Been on this site for quite a while now and never knew that section was there. Will post when I get a good closeup.

Thanks for all the response. It is the one on the top right. I'll have to look to see if it is available somewhere. Is there someone out there that reproduces the plates with the serial number that I have now? And maybe the plate I am missing?

Here you go, http://mvdataplates.com/m37_screened_alum.php

David does a nice job but is not always the best at replying to you. He has several irons in the fire at all times. Plan ahead and you won't have a problem.

David's plates are superb especially his WW 2 stuff just takes a long time to get in touch with him. If you need the plate in question (and you are correct. It is the one in the right upper corner) you can also order one from VPW as they have an entire section on data plates and look like they may be N.O.S.

Page 90 Item number 18 on the right lower corner of the page is the one you are looking for. $8.50 each and shipping should not be that bad.

I bought my new Data Plate's from David's predecessor, he also had customer satisfaction issues, but a superb product!
Here's a link to my Responsible Agency plate. I had my new one done (engraved) at the mall, an engraving store called "Things Remembered", 12 bucks for both plates.

I bought the plate for my M101 trailer from David and he did an Excellent job stamping it. The only thing is he's hard to get a hold of....

Wow, Snowdad, that is one rusty glove box. I am glad mine was as good as it was. It looks like I have 2 possible ways to go here. Thanks for all the feedback. I am hip deep in wiring now, so as soon as I can I will be putting in an order.

Yea, the whole vehicle is quite rusty indeed, but mostly surface rust issues. I will have a small fortune invested in stripper wheels! It won't look the same when I am finished! Good luck on yours also. Keep us posted and as always Pics, Pics, Pics!

No kidding David is slow getting back to me. How long does he take or should I just phone him? Does anyone know if VPW will imprint my serial number and ID on my new plate if I order mine from them? The other thing is all my plates say Canadian. I guess it really does not matter as long a s the vin is the right one.
