Korean War Uniforms

Post by flobble »

O.K. I know it's not really vehicle related, but can anyone suggest a good book on U.S. Korean war uniforms and equipment. I've got probably 20 books on WWII, but can't find a darn one on the Korean War! Anyone have any ideas? Hope everyone is enjoying Memorial Day.

I would recommend Shelby Stanton's "US Army Uniforms of the Korean War" it was published by Stackpole books, 1992. Then there's those Osprey series. they're OK I guess.

Another good reference book is David Douglas Duncan's (sp?) "This is war". He was a photographer imbedded with the USMC when they went asore at Inchon. He followed them up and into the Chosin and finally their evac. Now that book, would be all about the Marines so if you're not interested in the 'Corps it might be a waste of time & money to locate a copy. There's a couple of photos of my Father in that book as Mr. Duncan was imbedded with my dad's unit.
