Rotisserie for "non M37" work....

Post by refit1701 »

Any of you guys have any experience with one of these military rotisseries? They have a 2600lb capacity and were normally used for big engine work. I got one cheap and am going to use it for restoring a jeep..err...non M37 vehicle.

The gearbox is stuck and I need to get that big gear off the main shaft. Any suggestions? I tried a cheap gear puller and I ended up with a broken puller. Maybe get a good heavy duty one?

I am soaking the two gears (worm and regular gear) in penetrant. I can't find any roll pins on the big gear so it should just be pressed on. I'll have to get a pic of the inside of the box.

Any ideas?

Yeah, we tried that but I think I will have to get some MAPP gas to get it to really work.
