Well, I spent the first $$ on my truck that I have spent in YEARS last night on ebay...

I got 2 pair of NOS door pins for $11. Horray for me!

Im going to start collecting small parts, and in the spring bring her down from my parents plast, and begin the rebuild.

yes, yes it does... I just won some NOS shock absorber bushings as well...

Im definately not new to the M's, Its just been a long, long time since I spun a wrench on one... I went to school, got my degree, bought a 96 ford escort, played with that for a while (turbo, suspension, other fun bits... no one makes parts for those cars, so I built everything myself), I sold that, bought an Audi S4, just bought a house, so, now I have a garage, to put the truck in... I need to get some tools, and I'll be all set to start turning wrenches.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do the frame and bottom of the body in?

I WAS thinking line-X bedliner, but its extremely expensive, and if its not prepped right, it doesnt do well...

Then, I thought POR-15, but I've read some not so good things about it...

So, Now I am researching zerorust... seems to be promising. Anyone use it before?

I was thinking a few coats of zerorust, and some good undercoating and I should be all set.

I sure hope you got a good job after getting your degree, Josh. Student loan payments can eat up a paycheck in a hurry, ya know. Or is that why your first parts purchase was under 20 bucks?

I found a PPG product called CRE - color tinted to match od green, brushed or sprayed, 2 part corrosion resistent epoxy. Needs a topcoat if exposed to sun - did my frame, axles, springs with a brush. Sprayed as a primer everywhere else. I have a local formulation match to 24087. My topcoat is acy enamel also matched within the PPG family. Its in the marine industrial coating section(think oil rigs) of your local PPG store. Cost $42/gal plus the hardner at $26. Can be cut with laq thin up to 25%. I steered away from POR.
