Have you done a recent compression test on this engine?

The guys did a test on it just before they pulled it as we always do. readings were 125# and better. In fact this one has the highest readings I've seen in a take-out engine in a long time.

That is very little information accompanying a $1200 price tag. I would be very careful buying a pig in a poke. What is the history of this truck??? Why is a good engine being pulled??? Why is the seller leaving out crucial info ??? Sorry Charles, could not resist your usual admonitions  Kurt Hirte

Charles can speak well for himself, but I'd say that it's a safe bet that his shop is performing another 4BT conversion... and the running engine was pulled to make room for the diesel.

But this is simply a guess on my part.

That would have been my guess, too, Tanner. ;)

This is the way it is Kurt; I did short cut this message, just haven't had the time to spend. I had intended to add a line saying to call or email for details if interested. I think all the usual folks here know us well enough to know they will not get taken when buying from us, we don't do business that way. If you are interested in the engine, feel free to call as others have, I'm happy to share all the crutial info I have. If you have no interest, I guess it really doesn't matter. Doing it this way gives me the opportunity to share with folks who may have interest while saving me the aggravation of dealing with those who do not. Do you know anybody like that??

Why is a good engine being pulled?? Because the owner wants to upgrade his truck by installing a new QSB4.5 all electronic Cummins.

I guess my attempt at comedy fell flat. Charles, I thought at least you would get a chuckle over the "pig in a poke" line, since you used it to "build up" interest in an item that I had for sale a few years ago. Kurt

A few years ago, man if it happened yesterday and I didn't write it down; there is a high likelyhood I won't recall it.

Charles. Is the shop open over the weekend for me to call about this engine? If not, could you email the "rest of the story" on this engine? I am definitely interested.

The take out engine I bought from Charles is GREAT. It's been in since March and runs like a champ. :D
