License tag bracket....

Fabbed up a nice little license plate bracket the other day. I need to thank the person who mentioned the tailight as an area to mount the bracket because that is the plan. I had some leftover 1/8 X3/4 flat steel lying around which I used to make the bracket. I'm going to use the existing tail light bolts as the attach point thus no drilling on the truck required. I still have to drill the bracket, and paint before I mount it. I'll take some photos when its done in case anyone else is interested.

I would like to see the pics, my 51 plate is screwed onto the tailgate. I will be replacing the tailgate in the near future and will have to relocate the tag. Thanks.

WE PUT A OLONG PIANO HINGE UNDER THE FRONT BUMPER WITH the license plate and a pow plate the back of the truck has a fd sign on a hinge "keep back x feet" probly lr=eave that and add the tag to it

Recently relocated my rear license plate by welding a piece of angle off the left side of the pioneer rack, drilling two holes in it, and using Lite'N Boltz with LED lights to bolt the plate to the angle. See it at : http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2528690 ... 2849bXBumC

The LEDs are inside the bolts, and give off a blue/white glow which illuminates the plate. I chose this location as the plate does not get crushed when the tail gate is all the way down, it is very visible, and it does not interfere with the pioneer tools. I really don't want anything hanging below the level of the bumper or the tail lights, as it would get torn up when driving off road.

On the front, I chose the one space which is above the bumper, and which would not interfere with any lights or air flow to the radiator. See: http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2888175 ... 2849yPxfyX

I ran a piece of angle up from a plate bolted to the frame horn, and then welded a horizontal piece to hang the plate from. I didn't want to bolt it on the bumper as it is a piece of 8 inch channel and takes a lot to drill through, and I can push on things with my bumper without messing up the license plate.

Just a couple of other solutions to the M37 license plate dilemma.

I had thought of mounting the license plate to the pioneer rack that I have, but since I haven't even mounted that yet, I wanted somethin ga little easier for the time being. I chose the tail light mount as a good spot based on someone here(don't recall who sorry). In my case offroading isn't an issue so I am not concerned about the plate getting torn off. And since Pa is a one plate state, I have no issues with a front plate.
