OK so technically its on life support, But I'm still smiling. Over new years I had taken the carb apart and cleaned it thoroughly, and added a gravity feed fuel tank. Then sunday I started on the ignition system. Pulled all plugs and cleaned them, checked the distributor (look suprisingly good inside), and then buttoned all that back up. I also poured a cap full of oil in each cylinder while the plugs were out, and turned it over by hand several times. Put in fresh oil, and topped off the radiator. disconected all wires but the starter, and cranked until I had oil flowing into the filter housing(Batts borrowed from my Dually). Hot wired the coil, and went inside to get the rest of the kids. one quick shot of carb cleaner, and she came to life. After about 10 seconds, all the oil i had put in the cylinders burned off, and she idled pretty smooth, and clean. I haven't stopped smiling much since. Next step get it off life support. BTW The carb is not original. Its a single barrel carter, says ball and ball, and chrysler corp. on it, Any thoughts.

It is great to bring one back to life ( kinda makes you feel like Dr Frankinstien)
The ETW1 is the correct carb ( click below ) which was originally Ball & Ball who later became Carter.

Congrats....
I remember when I got my truck running for the first time. Its a good feeling that you won't soon forget.
As to the carb mine also says Ball and Ball but is an original (as in the picture M-Thrax supplied).

My carb Is definitely not the ETW1. I've compared it to all the carbs Pictured in the VPW Catalog, and It doesn't look like any of them. It was definitely a butchered install. Maybe this carb came from a passenger car? Oh well who cares I'll add a new carb to the VERY LARGE wish list. I may try posting a pic later for curiosity sake.
