WTT - 1953 M37

Post by steved »

Decided I will be forever before I will get around to restoring my M37, so I thought about trading it...

The truck is a 53 W/O W from New Mexico (presently in NW Pennsylvania), and has been stored covered since bringing it home in 2003. Its currently (within the last three months) been moved from a building to the driveway (under a tarp).

Being from New Mexico, it has no fabric or exterior rubber left at all. It has two small rust issues...one is the common window frame rust, the other is two spots about the size of a half-dollar on the body, under the hinge for the windshield frame. Its been a while since I scrutinized it, but I remember the frame and body being about as solid as you will ever find. It did have some things welded to the rear bumperettes and rear bed section. The front bumper is tweaked, the one running board is tweaked, and I'm sure there are a couple dings/dents...not to sure it wasn't someone's ranch truck. The doors on the bed work, and the bed is almost rust free.

Although the engine is not seized, I have never tried to fire it. It does appear complete, and was empty of coolant when I brought it home (bad lower hose).

I have acquired a bunch of spare parts:

*Complete set of rims.
*Complete set of front and rear axles (hub to hub, with all internals).
*Complete set of front and rear axleshafts, and tracta joints.
*Transmission.
*Engine, missing things like the water pump and brackets.
*Spare (sold to me as rebuilt) distributor.
*PTO box.
*New brake hoses.
*NOS rubber shifter rubbers.
*Starter and Generator.
(the SPARE engine, trans, starter and generator are from the same truck, and purchased from a forum member about two years ago).
*GOOD TITLE, IN MY NAME.
*a restorable tailgate.
*and some other small odds and ends, including one of the wiring harnesses.

All in all, the truck is very restorable, and all the spare parts go with it as part of the deal. You can search my name and see the issues I had acquiring a title...that is one of the hardest parts.

Sorry my pictures are from 2003, but it hasn't changed any.

I'm mainly interested in trading for the following...a partial trade for an 89 to 93 Dodge W250/W350 ("W" is a 4x4) with a Cummins Turbo Diesel in decent shape. Looking for a driveable solid truck...doesn't need to be perfect.

PM me if interested...
