Fuel filler neck won't pull out?
The extension on the fuel fill tube (the one that sits inside the main tube) on my truck won't extend. It's somehow jammed and only moves about 1/4 inch. What could be causing the filler neck to jam? I've tried gently prying with a screw driver thinking this might dislodge it, but no luck. I'm out of ideas at this point.

Tube
I've tried everything I can think of at this point. Tube won't move more than 1/4inch.

Re: Tube
It is locked into position until it is turned while pulling upward.Nickathome wrote:I've tried everything I can think of at this point. Tube won't move more than 1/4inch.

Locked?
Charles;
Which way do you turn the tube to unlock it? I had tried to turn it one way then the other as well but it wouldn't move.....

Heya, all!
Just did an inspection of the filler tube and extension on my XM152 / M43... the extension "shouldn't" be able to turn in the lowered / retracted position. The extension has 3 bumps around it's base, these ride in "T" shaped tracks that are spot welded into the filler tube. The top of the "T" is at the top end (gas cap end) of the filler tube. With the extension in the up / extended position, a clockwise 1/6 turn will lock the extension up, and a 1/6 counter clockwise turn should enable it to be pulled out.
I'd suggest giving your extension an upward yank (out). Perhaps one of the "T" shaped tracks is broken free and fouling the extensions movement.
Good luck!
