I never got mine either! Was supposed to be part of an early renewal.

Yes, Virginia, there is a 2008 MV Calendar

Post by jagjetta »

Gentlemen:
Seems to be a lot of confusion here on G741 so thought I would help clear it up.

Subscribers do not automatically receive a free calendar. We sell calendars for $9.95. They are available, online, at www.militaryvehiclesmagazine.com. Go to the home page and there should be a button on the left hand side to click for placing an order.

Promos have gone out in which you subscribed early (or for three years) and part of the promo was that you should receive a free calendar. If you subscribed using one of those offers and haven't received it, call 715.445.4612 and ask for customer service. They will pull up your account and can tell right away if you should have received a free calendar or not. You can also check on the status of your subscription.

Hope this helps! Keep em rolling,

When did the "three year subscription" order go into effect to get the calender? I renewed mine for only two years and still got the calender. Frankly $9.95 is a blatant ripoff. I like the calenders but for that price forget it....

Sadly, Nick, inflation seems to have hit the calendar publishing industry just like everything else. For years, I have gotten calendars featuring antique John Deere tractors. The first one cost me $5.95 in 1994. Last year, it was $9.95 from the same publisher. This year's edition, again from the same publisher, was $12.95. While shopping, I don't recall seeing anything of that sort priced under $10.00. :(

Inflation

Post by Nickathome »

Oh I don't doubt inflation, oil prices, the war, and other issues are all influencing prices these days. But $9.95? Come on, thats flagrancy at its best. As much as I like MVM, their calenders aren't worth that much...Add to that their ever increasing subscription prices, so its not as if they don't get their money.

Assuredly Mr editor will chime in on the issue and try to justify the price with lines like, "you don't see the big picture of what we have to go through, etc, etc". Maybe we don't but we do see the net result, and the net result is not worth $9.95 IMO, and they can keep their calender for that price.

Bottom line we hold the cards and we can stop buying, which is just what I might do if the subscription prices go much higher. Again I love MVM but have a limit as to how much I am going to pay before it s gets to be too much.

Nick.......
$9.95 seems like a good price for a calendar to me seeing as I just paid more for the other one that was advertided on here a while back, some of the nicre calendars I have seen are way more than 10 bucks anyhow plus I have been thinking of subscribing to MVM for a while, I'll have to contact Jagjetta at some stage and sort it out.
Take Care

As suggested by the editor I called today to see where my calendar was.
They looked it up and told me I would have it by 07 Feb (I assume 2008, but they didn't say).

Anyway I renewed my subscription about 3 months ago with the free calendar offer. So it takes about 5 months to get it to me? I am sorry, I don't understand that especially when others have already received theirs, they are offering them for sale on the web site and 2008 begins in Jan, not Feb....

Go figure... I think they should give me a free years subscription...

MVM

Post by SydneyM37 »

I am extemely dissapointed with the adminastration of MVM, When i contacted them, i provided them with my full name and address and they can't even locate my account. They tell me to wait till my next issue and tell them my details then ( sorry that just isn't good enough). So it would be about May till my calended arrives.

Lucky for me i got in contact with John the editor and he was kind enough to tell me he will pop one in the post for me.

This is my second run in with these people, and don't even try the online contact point, once again the editor had to step in and help me out.
