Hi all,
I swapped my M/C, but I don't like the new cover plate. I'm going to use an older cover that will accept my pressure bleeder. There are 1/4-inch copper washers under the bolts. I can't find them locally. Can I get away with annealing the old ones for re-use? Can I use Permatex thread sealer instead? I'll be using DOT 5.
As a sidebar, and to add to the list of NAPA experiences, I found the number of the M/C rebuild kit (it's now UP1, and runs about $18 ). Thinking that the gaskets may be included in the kit, I went to the local dealer to ask. "Nope, taking the cover off is not part of a rebuild". Alrighty then...
Thanks,
Dave
Hope everyone is having a good holiday season!
