Re: Spare tire fixed...
No one around here will do split rims. (Except the forklift shops) most tire shops around here WILL do split ring or GYSR wheels. Make sure you ask if the do safety ring wheels or they will say no.

New brake drum availability?
Are there any sources for new drums for our trucks? I'm done doing that initial drive of the new truck to shake out where I have to go to make it reliable. While it is down for the new wire harness, I need to tackle the brakes. What I've got are poor to dangerous. The right front doesn't appear to w...

I'd only be afraid that my family would sell my stuff for what I told them I paid for it!

Re: Fuel Pump Question/Ideas
Easy way to do what you are woried about. Hot wire from ign to ctr pole of mom-off- on switch. Wire from mom position to pump side of oil pressure switch. Wire from ON position to other terminal of oil pressure switch. Wire from pump side of oil pressure switch to pump. Oil pressure switch must be o...

Re: Fuel Pump Question/Ideas
I have a civilian fuel pump with sediment bowl. It provides more fuel than that tiny one hole can use. Easily. I do have a correct vacuum/fuel pump, but need to find a rebuild kit for it. The one place I knew had them is now out of business. The previous owner had an electric on it. (And a box with ...

Re: Still working out the bugs...
It feels like an expedition to go 15 miles in mine right now. So many little things to do. None a killer in itself, but whe they all add up... But I am so grateful mine ran and drove (a bit) when I bought it. I just can't fathom doing a start from bits vehicle anymore. That was for when I was 30 yea...

Re: Fuel Pump Question/Ideas
Every vehicle I have ever owned with an electric pump has had it come on with key on. (Except my airplane) you could always add in a tipover sensor if you were worried about it.

Re: vehicle transport
The next 2 weeks could be tough. With BarretJackson and RussoSteele in Arizona, many of the rigs are there. (Several hundreds at least in one lot.)

Re: L head mods keeping the info alive
Two carbs, fairly easy. Three carbs much more fiddly. Setting up one as the master carb and having linkage setup so you can adjust individually, makes it easier. Dual carb manifolds are available new. Carbs are available new or you can find a pair of B&B Carters. There are 3 into 1 X 2 iron exha...

Re: drove it!
Well, the carb and sediment bowl were full of red 'wool' and the ports were plugged up. Cleaned it all out, put a trash trap in line ahead of the pump. New plugs (old ones had a pink tint from the 'wool' running through the engine), points, cap, rotor and set timing, idle and mixture. gonna have to ...

Re: Pay it Forward....
Truthfully, all I really need is somewhere around 20-30 various bolts. And, since I have a good supply of IH stuff, figured I use that. I'm not a rivet counter and this truck will never be a show vehicle. (The JD stuff would be good barter stock around here. Lots of folks with tractors, me included. )
