"All forum members please read"

I just got off of the phone with the wife of dr9487, a long time forum member, as maybe some of you know, Rick had been sick for the last couple of months, he had Pancreatic Cancer, he passed away this morning. I do not know any of the Burial details yet, except for it will be in South Carolina, he lived in Gaston S.C. I will post any news that I find out.
.
.
Rest in Peace, my friend.
.
.
I got to meet Rick late this summer, after talking to him on here, and thru emails, and I don`t think you could find a nicer, friendlier, and honest man.
.
Good Bye Rick

Have a good Day!

Thank you for passing the news along. We'll miss his participation in the forum, that's for sure. I'm sure he will be missed by many others, too. Guys like him usually have a lot of "near and dear" friends.

Same for me too, the hobby has lost a Prince of a guy! I wondered why I got no response from him? My deepest sympathies go to his family!

   I'm speechless
I talked to Rick via e-mail last month regarding a Deuce at a GSA auction, he never said anything about being sick. Rick was very instrumental in getting "Joe's last wish" up and going. He will be very much missed and my heart goes out to his family. Earl please keep us posted
Sincerely
Bill Wincapaw

I did not post anything about Rick being sick, kinda figured that if he wanted everyone to know about his Cancer, he would post it. I had a lot of trouble trying to keep up with what was going on with his battle, once in a while his wife would answer the phone and fill me in. He will be missed.

Have a good Day!

I never spoke with him on the phone, but I did exchange a few e-mails with him back in early spring. I feel kinda guilty now after telling him about my own medical problems and having him offer me encouragement. He told me he had medical problems, too, but didn't elaborate on them. Maybe he didn't know at the time??

Always sad to hear a good guy passed away.

Incredible how this net changes our lifes, I´ve never met the guy I´m on the other side of the world and I´m stunned anyway for this sad news.

My prayers are with him and his family.

Rick sold me "Old Yeller" and introduced me to this forum and y'all.

He was a gentleman and a Christian in the truest sense of the words. The world is a little bit sadder with his passing, but rest assured that he knew where he was going. If anyone still needs his phone number I can send it to you via email.
Shoot me a note @ rmw@taconic.net with Ricks' name in the "subject" line.

Never good to hear of someone passing long before his time should have been up.

Will get some funds going that way.

It just hit me, I met Rick a couple of years ago. I posted on big e that I had a used m37 bed that I would let go for $75. He came to get it and had an old power wagon in the flatbed trailer. had, I assume, his wife with him and some kids as well. seemed like a very nice, sincere person.
