Freaked Out at the Pump

I have a '79 Cadillac Fleetwood ex-funeral service limo that I've been trying (not too hard) to sell. Now that we're planning to move, my wife wants me to get a little more serious about selling it, so I thought I'd take it to my car club's annual car show tomorrow and put a "For Sale" sign on it. It still had half a tank of gas since the last time I drove it about 9 months ago, so I decided to top it off today. I had forgotten how big the gas tank on that beast is. It took almost $70.00 to fill it up the rest of the way!

(P.S. - Anybody wanna buy it? 54K original miles, 4 new tires, new brakes all the way around, and the factory spare still in the trunk. 7-Litre [472 cu in] engine runs great. DRINKS gas!)

:D

I think that I mentioned in another post that 3/4 of
a tank of reg for my F350 is $130.

For sure! It gives new meaning to the old military instruction to "assume the position," doesn't it? ;)

I'll bet that Caddy gets better mileage than my M37!

If I keep it down to 50 mph, it gets about 12 mpg. If I put my foot in the carb, it gets about 5 or 6 mpg. The problem is that it rides so smooth and easy that you can be doing 50 and glance at the speedo a few minuites later and see that you're doing 80 without even realizing it!
