Vapor fuel filter

Post by 1952m37lw »

Was recently driving on a class 4 road with a icy steep hill, the road was pretty rough so I was driving slow and I kept spinning on the ice going up the hill and vapor locked. It was 75* out. I already have a fuel pump heat shield. I saw this fuel filter that goes between the pump and carburator with a vapor return line. http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgNam ... mber=86040
Has anyone used a similar product with success.

Are you sure you vapor locked? It's unusual for that to happen when the engine is running. Usually, it happens when things have gotten thoroughly warmed up, then the engine is shut down and the heat vaporizes the fuel which is no longer moving in the lines. This makes it difficult to restart the engine. (When the fuel is moving, constantly being replaced by fresh fuel, it generally doesn't vaporize.)
