Master Cylinder Vent Valve

Well, taking the old brake master cylinder out, I broke the vent valve off.
Question #1: Is that necessary for proper brake system performance?
Question #2: does anyone happen to have one they'd like to sell, or know of a source for one?

Your wisdom and experience is highly appreciated!!

Have a nice day!

Thanks Elwood! Since I wrote this post, I found a dude that has one - pretty darn quick!
I don't plan on water fording, but you never know!!

Have a good one!

if you power bleed with a Motive type device, just be sure to turn the valve off, or you will pump the brake fluid out instead of thru the brake lines at the wheels. something I found out once, was messy. hal
