Hi All,
Decided to get some truck stuff done while I had the time available and before the summer heat kicked in:

Also replaced the water pump but have no picture with it included.

Looks like time well spent! Truck sure looks good too. Did you get new canvas or did you just reinstall it for the summer?
The crash truck has some sort of heavily modified body doesn’t it? I wonder what it started out life as. The folding door is an interesting touch.

Thanks Rob,
Crazy busy for sure. Didn't get everything done that I wanted, but got some other stuff done that wasn't scheduled, like the bed bows and canvas. The canvas set and the wood bow kit I've had for years-just never found time to install them. Luckily, the bows clear my garage door by 2 inches-whew!
That modified crash truck was a stunner to see. Unfortunately it was on private property so I couldn't do a close examination.
The old timing chain had so much slop in both sides I'm surprised the engine still ran.
I still need to replace my exhaust and intake gaskets, rebuild my winch, and put a new shifter shaft in the PTO. Still need a new set of tires to mount on the combat rims waiting their turn too.

It’s also not the R2 variant so it is some sort of custom body. Someone put a lot of work into that!
Were you noticing any effects from the worn chain? Or just doing some preventative maintenance? I’m always amazed at these old trucks, how they can keep chugging along despite the wear and tear.

The Red Crash Truck is actually a Marine Corp MB-2 Crash Truck and normally has a roof turret on top and were built in the mid 1950's.

Those R2's are rare, and have a really extensive list of OBE.
Double glazing,even.
The data plate always cracked me up with "Truck, Forcible Entry..."

Looks good!
Today is my last day of work..
Time to get the garage cleaned out and find my truck under everything. Once I find it I can get back to work on it!

Very cool, I didn’t know of that model! I thought there was only one version. I stand corrected.
