Gentlemen,
Looks like my Spring project for this year will be to replace the oil pan gasket. I've noticed that the majority of the oil drops are coming from around the pan area and not the front or rear mains for the most part. I'll be calling John at MWM sometime this week and ordering the gasket(s).
While I'm digging into the lower half of the engine is there anything else I should be looking at or checking? If I do decide to tackle the front and rear mains how hard are they to replace while the pan is off? I've been told they can be done with the pan off and can be rotated into place - is this true?
Will I run into any problems removing the pan or is it pretty straight forward?
Any tips or helpful experience will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Kevin

It is important to make sure the long edges of the pan are absolutely flat, and not to overtorque the bolts upon installation.
Otherwise, it will leak between the bolts.
