Searching for my M37

Post by Rob61 »

Hello all,

Back in the 1990s, I abruptly had to sell the M37 that I had myself restored. I was working at the Mack Truck dealer in Chesapeake, Virginia (the truck was located there).
The gentleman who purchased it, if I remember correctly, was going to keep it on his farm in Kentucky. The M37 was an early 1950s.
I restored it myself. I can't describe with words what this particular M37 means to me.
I have searched the registry, and continue to search Google images.

The M37 family of collectors is a tight family. If anyone could help me connect once more with the buyer/gentleman, I would be deeply appreciative.

FYI: I had added a fording kit.
It did not have a fender-mounted heater, or door-mounted spare tire.
Oiive drab (not shiny) with military marking.
No winch.

Warmest regards,

Rob

Hi Rob! Thanks for getting back with us!
The best help we could provide is if you still know, or can obtain your VIN. Without that you're grasping for a needle in a stack of needles.
If anyone might know of Rob's old M37 please send him a DM here.
Thanks,
Gary

Thank you so much Cal.

I'm now looking at other M37s for sale, but still would prefer to locate my past unit. I put a lot of time and effort into it.

Happy New Year my friend.

Much appreciated, Rob! The bright side is that you're looking to save another one-we'd save 'em all if we could but that's not reality, so let's get 'em one at a time!
Happy New Year to you Rob, and All who are devoted to this hobby!

There was an auction that just ended. Seller was in Winchester Kentucky.
Looked like a farm. I posted the link in another post.
The vin is shown in a gallery picture. They wanted 30k but are taking offers.

Thank you Michael !

I don't think that's my truck, It didn't have a winch, heater or side antenna. I recall mine was very early production, 1951 or 1952.

That is a nice truck.

All those differences could be easily added down the road.

A closer look might be in order.

Agreed, though I'm sure mine was older than 1954.
Thank you for your thoughts.

I've seen M-37s with the VIN 'adjusted' to fit an existing title.

One even had different serial nos in three places on the frame...

Not saying this is what was done in any case, just that it is pretty easy with pre-standardized VIN's.
