I'm digging through stuff that came with my truck, and I came upon two of these. Anyone know what they are for?

Never seen those on any M37s I've viewed close-up....

Having just taken mine down to the frame I do not recognize those.

Looks to be a unit fab special item. Any holes in the bed wood that match up?

Can we make this a running thread? I got a piece that is making me scratch my head:

Can't tell from the photo: is that hollow or solid? It looks like a short length of flared tubing with a flare nut.

OK, here are two stout metal parts, came with my M36, have no idea where they go and what they do. Some sort of wiring protection I believe. Any thoughts....

I know this one!

They go on the backside of the taillight brackets. Clips hold the Douglas shells.

This is fun!

It’s flared on one end like a brake line, no flare other end.

I'm pretty sure this is for the vent line on the fuel tank. This screws into the fuel tank and then a rubber hose runs from the unflared in up to the filler neck.

Sounds right to me, the length of the flared tube was not mentioned.

OK, thanks for the update on what these big steel plates are for. I will look under my truck to see what is protecting my rear tail light's. NV

Another widget like that tubing thing is found on the bottom of the steering box where the horn wire comes out.
