Fuel Can Spout Rubber Seal

Post by delta31 »

US military Fuel can, Not the NATO style
We finally found one of the larger diameter fuel can spouts that have the cam lever to seal them. I believe that the rubber ring on this one is worn to the point that it no longer
seals. I am not referring to the rubber gasket that goes under the cap/cover but instead the rubber ring that goes around the base of the spout.

I have not been able to find a replacement rubber ring. Is they a rubbering ring out there made for something else that would work?

Thanks

I know the rubber seal you are talking about. I had a spout on a jerry can that I acquired that had been on so long that when I removed it, the rubber seal seperated from the end of the spout. Looks like there was a ring type bushing that got pressed into the spout to hold this rubber seal in place that I tried to smash back in place and could not. I think all the loose parts on still on my work bench. If they are and the seal looks good, you can have it. I'll check in the next day or so for it. And take a pic.
