I am putting the tool box floor on, and have run into a "thing". looking at the pics, you can see that the center section is about 3/16" lower (pics are of it upside down) than the outer portions. When I took this apart, the floor was totally rusted out- I found a replacement. All this happened years ago so I do not remember if there was something there to take up the gap. Anyone know?

Looks about right. When you add the strip caulk and tighten down the bolts there will be no issue.

Thanks,
I found some 1"x1/8" bar stock laying around the shop, and made a couple of fillers. Painted them, seam sealed them and everything fit great.

Did you bolt the toolbox to the frame? I think you want them divorced for flexing.

No, it just looks that way in the pic- attached to the crossmembers (for the bed)

24087, I have bought 5 gallons of the stuff from the same vender on ebay, every time I get it it comes from a different paint co. The colors varied slightly from company to the next. So, I poured all of it into a 5 gallon bucket, mixed well and poured it back into the gallon paint can- now they are all the same color,

That's what happened I am sure during WWII and probably after for Army vehicle colors. Everyone gets all hung up on what color is correct, while Ford was recycling used but not sprayed paint on their assembly line. Just dump it all together and spray for the next production run. Not to mention what happened in the motor pool once the truck / jeep was in the field.
