The PrinceOweird is still around.

So are several M37's in various states of repair.

Matt Dunn is still here with my 1953 USAF R-2 Rescue truck and my 1968 Bailfield M-274A5 Mule. Great site with a lot of info for all of us.

Still here. Haven't posted much while I've been putting together my machine shop. But finally back to working on the M37. Here's the current project...

Face milled a 1" thick slab of 7" x 23" mild steel.

Then drilled twenty-one 7/16" holes, and bored six holes just over 3.250" inches.

Just need to corner round the edges and it will be ready to bolt up to the block.

If there's interest, I'd consider making copies from aluminum plate. The shipping cost back and forth on this steel one would be hefty.

First though, I'm going to make some comparison measurements with and without the plate installed, and I'll post those results in the torque plate thread I started way back in 2014 (!?): http://www.g741.org/PHPBB/viewtopic.php ... 034#p51111

Maybe these old blocks really are rigid enough that a torque plate won't make much difference, but my curiosity won't be satisfied until I test the theory. And since I'm running chrome-faced compression rings, a straight and round bore is essential.

John,
It's so shiny I thought it was aluminum. That thing is going to be heavy. I thought about cutting holes in an old head, but you have bigger toys than I do. Glad you have the Shop up and running. Fun stuff!
