Hello From Argentina!

Post by vit16 »

Hello Guys, thanks for accepting me in this team
My name is Ronnie, I live in Argentina and I am a mechanical engineer. I have bought together with my brother also mec. eng. an M37B1 1962.
It is very complete just minor repairs. It was bought by the Argentinian military forces in 1962-63 and finished his services in 1982. It was bough by an enthusiast who died 12 years ago. Since that it was just engine started during 4 years more but later was stopped inside a building. Luckily it was well protected with no mices so it is a very good unit with no rust at all.
Hope to find a lot of information from you and help here in the future.

Hey thanks!!

unfortunatelly it was painted by the former owner because the police didn't want him with a military truck in the town... It was just to bother him.

this is how it was the first day 2 months ago and today with lots of non original accesories removed hehehe.

we started the engine very easy!!

removed spark plugs put some engine oil inside, turned the crankshaft by hand to lubricate liners and "feel it" cleaned carb, made it crank with the starter without spakrplugs checked sparks wore good, used a separate fuel can, so we just made it start!!! after 8 years heheh it was definetelty made for war!!
You may imagine how in love we are with this truck!!

Hello Ronnie and Welcome!
I love Argentina and have visited many times. In fact, I married one of your beautiful Argentinian women! Where in Argentina are you located? Oh, very nice truck! I am from Texas, USA and love owning an M37 because they are so rare on the street. Mine is a celebrity in my neighborhood and I haven't even started it yet. I certainly hope it starts as easy as yours!

Have you registered your truck in the registry on this site? I have seen two others (I think) who are M37 owners in Argentina. It may be nice for you to know who they are? Even if you don't register, you can search and send them an email... just a thought! ... Oh, my wife if from San Isidro and she has two good friends here from Rosario... so it is a small world! Feel free to email me directly at dhaas343@gmail.com if you would like.
