Hot Summer Project!
Hello Crew!
How is everyone holding up? Seems some of you must be under water and some on fire.
Been hot and humid here in the Midwest but that's better than shoveling snow!
Been working on several projects this summer, but moving awfully slow.
Trying to finish a trailer I started a long time ago and rebuilding my Lori's old jon-boat.
Gotta' get gone, but I'll be back!

Trucker Tim,
I was just thinking about you when I drove past the Wall-mart warehouse outside of Beaver Dam WI last weekend. Glad to here that your still keeping busy and working on stuff for Lori.
Thats a very nice looking trailer and I look forward to seeing more pictures of it while its being built.

Re: Hot Summer Project!
Hey Bert & Crew!
I spent a lot of time up in Beaver Dam, one of my favorites DC's to land for the evening. Really nice folks and always got a lot of miles and loads up there.
Just about finished with the fabrication part of the project. Couple of little details left and then on to paint, floor & wiring. Gotta' get-er done Lori is running out of money!
As I’ve always felt a license plate bracket on most trailers is an after thought, so is the tongue jack. Added a few gussets to the center winch support and built a new mounting bracket. Not too happy with the appearance of some of the welds, can't see anymore. Their burned in hot, just not very purdy.

Re: Hot Summer Project!
Hi Tim,
Great progress on the trailer.......that thing is going to tip the scale on empty weight.
Side note: I always enjoyed the area around Beaver Dam, just West of there is the town of Fox Lake and the home of Mullins Drive-In. My wife and I will stop in there for a burger, fries and root beer float when ever we passed through the area. http://www.enjoyhoriconmarsh.com/classi ... ive-in.htm
Keep up the good work Tim and we will talk again.

Re: Hot Summer Project!
Hey Bert, Gary & Crew.
Thank you for the kind words. Afraid things might slow a bit while waiting on the sandblasting & paint. We will see.
On another note, starting to organize our annual trip to Quincy Illinois. Got a real nice letter from the Folks involved in their parade.
Last year they presented us with a fantastic plaque. We are so very proud to attend each year.
Hello to our Iowa Family!!!
Hope you are all doing well. We are planning our Veterans Parade and would like to invite all of you back again this year. Our parade will be held on Saturday, November 10th, 2018. We are so grateful for all the years you have been with us and we look forward to another great parade honoring our Veterans of the Quincy Area. We hope you will all be able to join us. Please let us know so we can let the Veterans who have rode in your vehicles know if you will be with us again this year. I look forward to hearing back from you all and again THANK YOU so much for making the long trip and supporting our Parade as you've done in the past years.
Please let me know if there is anything you would like or need to make this trip easier for you all!
Thank you again!
Krista

Re: Hot Summer Project!
Hello "rickf" & Crew.
I guess about anything that will fit, but mostly my New Holland compact tractor.
Possibly a Taylor Dunn utility cart, and with side boards haul firewood. Also with
a set of side boards Veterans on benches or wheelchairs in parades. Multi purpose
trailer.

Hey Gary & Crew.
Gary, for some reason they shipped your trophy to me. I've repacked it you should receive it soon. rickf was asking what I was going to haul on the trailer?
My Buddy thinks I need a dozer! I fully agree. You know, for my Lori, not me.

Re: Hot Summer Project!
I think I'll stick to the "photoshop" dozer for now.
Might be a trick loading without a "Guardian Angel" watching over that operation.
Back working on the old boat today but the trailer lights arrived a little while ago!
Get-er wired and some lights then a deck is in order.

Re: Hot Summer Project!
I was going to comment on the Photoshop but I wanted to see if anyone would bite on the picture first. That is damn good Photoshop work! Looks real convincing.
At our union picnics for the Operating Engineers we always had skills games and one of those was the tracked version of the teeter-totter. Picture trying to balance progressively larger dozers starting with a D6 up to a D8 on a 36 or 48 inch steel pipe. Sounds easy till you consider all of the paint has been sanded off of the pipe so you are steel on steel. There is 0 traction there. Also remember this is a UNION PICNIC, there is certainly no beer to help impair things.
