As per usual, spent the day out in my garage, cool enough now in Upstate SC for me to be outside, now that the summer heat is gone. Removed and installed new top of door felt wipers, not too hard. Then looked inside the door via the removable panel, to see how to remove the vertical door felt guides. Undid the lower screw holding a steel plate inside. But didn't see how I can remove and install new U guides. Is it necessary to remove the whole window apparatus to install new U guides? If so, I will leave well enough alone and quit that task.

Any thoughts?

It's just a few screws and it is out. The new glass runs are riveted in just like the originals. Did both sides in a couple hours sitting on a bucket.
