M37 and M60 - Courtship and Mating

I am blessed to have a semi-auto M60

I am also blessed to have a '54 M37

I have it on good authority that each is lonely, and each lusts for the other. Just seems to me a crime they are not together in some way, but those M24A2 mounts are like hens teeth.

And so I put it out there: how, without spending all of next month's rent, can a guy get these two eager pieces of equipment together and happy?

Not w/o a big cost-that M24 mount is pricey-the lowest I found was at Tower Park a couple of years back at $950-too much for my wallet....

I have made a Navy Pedestal mount for several different trucks in the past. I have now gotten away from those because I found a complete M24 mount at Knob Creek for the M.

http://www.bmgparts.com/mount.html Look about 17 items down. Easy to build yourself and allot cheaper than surplus stuff. Make sure to use quality tube stock with thick walls and tall gussets.

How good are you at metal fabricating? Just look for pics of the mount on the web get some metal and some pipe and make it work. Then pick up the right cradle for it (the most expensive part) and have fun. Only true collector and fans will know it's not real. Everyone else will be in aw or shock over your truck having the pig on it.

I posted several pictures of various fabricated weapons mounts a while back, see the link.

Looks like there wasn't any prescribed method, they just went with what worked for them at the time.
