Who went to aberdeen?

I my self went to aberdeen today, it was expensive. I spent 96 dollars in gas to haul my m37 there and back a 200 mile round trip. But it was worth every penny. Even with the not so great start of the day it turned out to be a great show.

I was there yesterday and brought my two sons today. The weather made it tough to find parts due to alot of vendors keeping stuff covered most of the mornings. However today got pretty nice around 11:00 once the rain quit.

Which M37 was yours?

I was there yesterday too, from 8:30 to 1. I live about 2 hours away in southern Maryland.
I only saw one M37, so missed yours. The one I saw was Bill E's.
The rain seemed to have scared off some visitors and perhaps some of the trucks?
Sorry I did not see yours; I like to meet local people from MD, VA, PA with M37's.
My 1953 is not running. It is my next project after my '52 civilian restoration is finished.

I was there all day Thursday and Friday, soaking wet most of the time. I got quite a few parts after digging constantly and watching for when vendors uncovered their stuff for a few precious minutes.

I saw Geraldo but didn't see anyone else I could recognize, being rather new to the board. I may have talked to a few of you and not known it.

I was there Friday and Saturday. I got a door mount spare tire carrier from Geraldo I had arranged for earlier. That is what is great about this forum. As Nick said, it was hard to find anything because vendors had things covered up a lot of the time. Boy was it wet. Spent a lot of time in the motel room watching old movies. I brought some rubber for bottoms of rifle brackets and gas can carriers and leather pieces, but being new to the forum, I don't really know what any of you guys look like. So if anyone wants anything, just email me at info@tannersalleyleather.com and I will send it to you. There weren't many M37s there. I was hoping to see one with the rifle rack mount, although the pictures posted here are excellent. Better luck next year.

I was there with the Steelsoldiers gang - saw a couple of real nice M37's but didn't get to meet the owners. The wind and rain was a challenge but I managed to pick up some parts for Ol' Blue including a winch and brake parts.

I hope to make it again next year - maybe even with Ol' Blue.

I was there thurs, fri, sat i think this year was a waste of fuel but I had stuff to pick up from guys so...

I was at Aberdeen, in my usual Yellow vendor spaces (back row, at the bottom end of the section...). I drove my XM813 this year (the one that says "don't run" on the doors in DRMO paint stick) instead of my Cummins M37 since I had a bunch of paint and other stuff to deliver to folks...

The XM708 dump wasn't quite ready for the trip up even though DaveO worked like a trojan with me to get it ready so he ended up driving my M35A2C instead...

I sold all of my M37 parts early, even with the rain folks were buying and selling... :)

I arrived on Thursday afternoon with the East Coast Convoy and was there until Saturday afternoon when I left with some of the other guys from NC and SC as we had to make some vehicle and parts deliveries on the way home and thus left a day earlier than usual.

Only stuff that I purchased was a new top for the XM813, some wiper blades, and some radio mount kits.

Great to see some of you, hate to hear that I missed seeing some others.

Who towed that rusty M37 and had it parked near David Doyle's spot? I talked to someone who I think did the towing. I looked under the hood to verify some brackets.

I have to say that truck was rustier than mine but much more complete. It had an odd charging system in it. I particularly liked the passenger seat mounted spare tire carrier... :lol:

A buddy of mine (Adam, aka Ferroequinologist) hauled it up from Columbia, SC to Henderson, NC. I towed it from Henderson up to Aberdeen... Mike Maynard (Mangus580) hauled it home where he will be combining it with the body tub that I sold him last year and the remnents of a M37 that he already has to make a truck.

It was a '63 with the 100 amp charging system in it. If you looked closely at the bed, you would have seen the evidence of three seperate antenna setups...

Incidently, Mike's other truck also has the 100 amp charging system.

David Doyle was located in one of my spaces... :) I provided his table and tent and had a chair for him, but he had his own chair (not that he spent much time sitting... ). If the guy you talked to who had towed up the M37 was folically challenged and wearing a bright orange raincoat, it was me... The M37 in question was parked between my '83 M35A2C and my '71 XM813.

The new owner, and the gentleman who towed it from SC to NC are both regulars on Steelsoldiers, but infrequently post here...

it was great seeing you, and the kids again,i wish the weather had been nicer, sat,, turned out good for us,, we sold just about everything
we brought, then comes the packing up,, and the long drive home :(
